Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) operates as the independent central bank of the Slovak Republic within the banking industry. It was established on 1 January 1993 by Act No. 566/1992 to serve as Slovakia’s central bank. Since 1 January 2009, at euro adoption, it has been part of the Eurosystem within the European System of Central Banks.
