HfWU, officially Nuertingen-Geislingen University, is a University of Applied Sciences located in Geislingen an der Steige in the Stuttgart region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Founded in 1949 as a College for Agricultural Engineering, it became a public University of Applied Sciences in 1972 and now educates more than 5,400 students. Its teaching and research focus lies in Business & Economics and Agriculture & Landscape Planning, and since 2016 it has also integrated art therapy and theater therapy through the incorporation of the Nürtingen University for Artistic Therapy. The university pursues an inter- and transdisciplinary approach to sustainable development, combining economic, ecological, and societal dimensions in its programs. It maintains strong ties with regional industry and civil society, requires practical terms in all study programs, and participates in international collaboration with more than 80 partner universities; in recent news, a new Head of Administration was appointed, with Linke taking the role in autumn.
