NAMI CCNS: Supporting Mental Health for All NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. We’re dedicated to improving lives through education, support, advocacy, and the belief that mental health is essential to overall well-being. NAMI Cook County North Suburban (NAMI CCNS) serves more than 17 communities, offering all programs free of charge. What We Offer: Education Programs Classes like Family-to-Family and NAMI Basics help individuals and families better understand mental health, build resilience, and learn practical tools for support. Support Groups Confidential, peer-led groups for individuals, parents, families, and veterans—offering a space to connect, heal, and feel understood. Peer Programs Recovery-focused groups like Connection Recovery and Balance for Success provide encouragement and real-life strategies from those with lived experience. Youth & School Programs Presentations like Ending the Silence and Mental Health 101 promote understanding, early intervention, and emotional wellness among students and educators. Community Education & Outreach Webinars, public events, and campaigns like Go Lime Green raise awareness, reduce stigma, and open up conversations about mental health. Advocacy We work to ensure that mental health is recognized as a priority in our healthcare, education, and justice systems—locally and nationally.
