NATA, the National Air Transportation Association, is a trade group serving the general aviation sector. It advocates for GA businesses before Congress and regulatory bodies at federal, state, and local levels, representing about 2,300 aviation firms that provide services to general aviation, airlines, and the military. Member companies range from multinational organizations to small, single-location operators, and the majority are designated as small businesses by the SBA. Based in Washington, DC, and founded in 1940, NATA operates within the aviation and aerospace sector and maintains a Safety 1st Training Center. In March 2026 it launched the Basic Apron Safety and Security - Ramp Access Only Certification, expanding its training offerings for ramp-access personnel.
