Founded in 1927 as the National Council of State Pharmacy Association Executives, the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations is a Richmond, Virginia-based non-profit focused on supporting state pharmacy associations and a broad coalition of stakeholder groups. It aims to advance the profession of pharmacy by fostering leadership, knowledge sharing, learning, and policy dialogue among its members and pharmacy leaders nationwide. Its membership includes state pharmacy associations and more than 70 other stakeholder organizations, reflecting a collaborative ecosystem designed to strengthen pharmacy practice and policy. In 2026 NASPA appointed a new president, appointing Sarah Sorum to lead the organization. The alliance has pursued collaborative initiatives, including a program partnership with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy for the Unite for Impact Challenge, and the launch of the NASPA Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Test & Treat Respiratory Certificate Program in 2025.
