The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) is one of the UK’s top animal welfare charities operating five rescue and rehoming centres throughout the south of England and promoting responsible pet ownership. Founded in 1971, the charity now cares for and rehomes around 1,500 animals a year at its branches in Hertfordshire, Essex, Berkshire, Cornwall, and Bedfordshire. NAWT has recently become the first UK rescue to implement the Open Paw behavioural programme, providing the animals in its care with the training and enrichment they need to settle in to new homes.
