The National Bank of Oman (NBO) is a banking institution headquartered in Muscat, Oman, founded in 1973 as the Sultanate's first local commercial bank. It serves customers across Oman through 60 branches, 182 ATMs, and 64 CCDM/FFM devices, in addition to two branches in the United Arab Emirates. The bank employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people and offers digital banking features, including a mobile app with fully digital account opening introduced in 2025. NBO engages in corporate citizenship programs and supports a range of causes in health, education, environment, youth, women, arts and culture in Oman. In recent years, the bank has pursued strategic partnerships, including a memorandum of understanding with Ooredoo Fintech (OFT International), and collaborations with the Royal Oman Police and Oman Airports Management Company to enhance services and digital payments.
