National Birth Equity Collaborative is a small, New Orleans-based organization focused on sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing for Black women and birthing people worldwide. It develops cross-border approaches aimed at improving maternal, infant, sexual, and reproductive outcomes within Black communities. The organization advances training, research, technical guidance, policy work, advocacy, and community-centered collaboration to drive changes in systems and cultural norms. Positioned within the hospital and health care landscape, NBEC pursues equity-oriented initiatives through partnerships and coordinated efforts. Their primary audience includes Black women and birthing people across the globe, with a mission to reduce disparities in maternal and infant health and in related sexual and reproductive health areas. A concrete recent development is NBEC's partnership with Ovia Health announced in February 2022 to support its work.
