The National Center for Housing Management is a professional training and certification organization focused on improving the practice of housing management, with a particular emphasis on affordable housing. Founded in 1972 by the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development under an executive order, it is based in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. It delivers its mission by providing education and certification to housing professionals and by assisting new and existing management organizations to raise operational performance and program compliance. Each year, more than 10,000 professionals take part in its classroom and online programs, and since its founding it has certified over 150,000 housing professionals. In September 2020, NCHM announced the addition of Jennifer Robinson as Senior Associate, Housing Tax Credits. Its programs are designed for housing professionals and management organizations pursuing higher standards in affordable housing operations.
