National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC) is a nonprofit organization based in Huntsville, Alabama. Founded in 1985 as the first Children’s Advocacy Center, it has long served as a model for thousands of similar centers and Barnahus worldwide. The center coordinates a multidisciplinary response to child abuse allegations, bringing together professionals from law enforcement, social services, mental health, and medical fields to ensure comprehensive support for children. Its work in Madison County complements its role in training child abuse response professionals around the world. Through its programs, training initiatives, and advocacy efforts, NCAC seeks to prevent child abuse, empower survivors, and educate communities about safety and prevention. The organization forms partnerships to extend its reach, including collaborations with other agencies, such as a 2023 alliance with Clark County, Nevada to provide services to families traumatized by abuse and neglect.
