Based in Washington, DC, the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans is a nonprofit organization governed by a 23-member board. It serves as a national hub for a network of community-based service providers and for local, state, and federal agencies delivering housing, meals, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid, and case management to homeless veterans. Together, this network supports hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year. In addition, NCHV acts as the primary link between care providers, Congress, and executive branch agencies responsible for veteran services. Its Technical Assistance and Training Center offers guidance on program development, administration, and governance. In 2018, the organization was recognized with the Meritorious Service Award.
