The National Coalition of STD Directors is a small-to-mid-sized nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., that serves as a national public health membership organization. It represents health department STD directors, their support staff, and community-based partners across 50 states, seven large cities, and eight US territories. The organization works to advance equitable and effective STI prevention programs and services nationwide, speaking on behalf of its members and aligning with core values of integrity, transparency, collaboration, health equity, and innovation. Among recent activities, NCSD launched a mpox ad campaign and toolkits to help local health centers boost awareness and vaccination. It has built member resources and platforms, including the STD Surveillance and Informatics Community on MyNCSD launched in 2022. The group also pursues partnerships to broaden training and resource sharing, such as collaborations with Chembio in 2021 for HIV and syphilis testing education and with NASBE for adolescent health leadership initiatives.
