The National Council of Nonprofits is a Washington, D.C.-based national umbrella organization serving the nonprofit sector. For more than three decades, it has mobilized what it describes as the country’s largest network of nonprofits to pursue transformative results. The council aims to champion, connect, and inform nonprofits, helping them collaborate and strengthen the sector in service of the public good. It seeks to build a cohesive nonprofit community that can advocate effectively and advance community outcomes.

In August 2025, the council partnered with the Maine Association of Nonprofits to launch Nonprofits Get It Done, a national campaign intended to highlight the essential work of nonprofits across the country.
