The National Deer Association is a United States nonprofit focused on deer conservation, education, and policy, formed on November 10, 2020 by merging two legacy deer organizations with 38 years of action. The organization is headquartered in Bogart, Georgia, and employs between 11 and 50 people. Its work centers on four strategic areas: Education and Outreach; Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3); Policy and Advocacy; and Deer Diseases, including efforts to build coalitions of hunters, wildlife agencies, and scientists. Activities include providing reliable information to hunters, educating the broader public about the deer’s role in wildlife conservation, and advancing programs such as the Field to Fork R3 initiative and a Public Land Initiative launched in 2021 to improve access and habitat. The NDA holds a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and has pursued partnerships with organizations such as Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund in 2023 and GunBroker in 2025 to support its conservation work.
