The National Institute for Defense Health Cooperation (NIDHC) is a consolidated institute that merges the strengths of three key organizations: the National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health (NCDMPH), the Center for Global Health Engagement (CGHE), and the Security Cooperation education and training functions of the Defense Institute for Medical Operations (DIMO). This consolidated institute reflects USU’s commitment to advancing defense health cooperation and supporting the Department of Defense’s 2025 Interim National Defense Strategy and other national priorities by focusing on enhancing military readiness, health security, civil-military cooperation, and international partnerships in an era of increasing and complex threats.
