National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) is an Iranian state-owned enterprise responsible for directing policy across exploration, drilling, production, research and development, refining, distribution, and export of oil and gas. It holds substantial hydrocarbon resources and is among the world's largest oil companies, with estimated reserves of 156.53 billion barrels of liquid hydrocarbons and 33.79 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. In 2024, Hamid Boord was appointed as deputy oil minister and CEO of NIOC, reflecting ongoing leadership changes within the organization.
