The National Lime Association acts as the trade association for manufacturers of lime in the United States and Canada, covering high-calcium quicklime, dolomitic quicklime, and hydrated lime. It functions as a collective voice to promote the industry's interests and economic well-being, seeking legislation, regulations, and standards that are practical and mutually beneficial to industry and the public. The organization also aims to educate the public about lime's role in the economy and to help producers understand and comply with environmental, health and safety laws.
Based in Arlington, Virginia, the association serves a small staff and interacts with lime producers across North America. A notable recent development is the June 2026 renewal of its alliance with the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration to provide information, training, and technical assistance focused on worker safety at lime plants and quarries.
