The National Network of State Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) serves as a professional home for State Teachers of the Year and finalists after their year of recognition, focusing on equity-driven initiatives to influence policy, practice, and advocacy for all students. Based in Los Angeles, California, the organization brings together educators from across every state and across all subject areas, including those in elected, appointed, and volunteer roles. NNSTOY operates within the education administration programs sector, positioning itself as a network that connects practitioners to advance improvements in teaching and learning through collaboration and leadership. Founded in 1980, the group emphasizes a broad, diverse membership and partnerships that support ongoing professional development and collective contributions to education policy and practice. A recent development involves NNSTOY’s collaboration with Youth Law and the National Center for Youth Law to support the Voices for Honest Education fellowship, a partnership intended to preserve access, inclusion, and meaningful content for students across the country.
