The National Organization for Marriage is a small nonprofit based in Princeton, New Jersey, founded in 2007 to organize opposition to same-sex marriage at state and local levels. It operates as a 501(c)(4) and engages in advocacy and lobbying to protect marriage and the faith communities that sustain it. The group positions itself as a national resource for marriage-related initiatives, aiming to influence policy and political activity in regions where marriage is most at risk.

NOM Education Fund operates as a separate 501(c)(3) dedicated to pro-marriage education and research, providing resources to clergy, scholars, political leaders, and activists. The NOM Marriage PAC raises funds to support targeted races, complementing the education and advocacy work. The organization seeks to develop political messaging and donor infrastructure at the state level, with a focus on expanding influence in the Northeast and West Coast.
