The National Propane Gas Association, or NPGA, acts as a nationwide trade association for the U.S. propane sector, bringing together retailers of propane and appliances, producers and wholesalers of equipment, manufacturers and distributors of propane appliances, cylinder fabricators, and propane transporters. Its membership includes more than 3,200 companies across all 50 states, supported by 38 affiliated state or regional associations and members in 19 foreign countries. It is based in the United States and focuses on policy and industry representation for propane stakeholders.

NPGA provides policy advocacy, industry coordination, and shared resources to address market and safety issues across the propane sector. In March 2026 it introduced a data visualization tool to illuminate the residential thermal marketplace, with data available at state, county, zip code, and tribal nation levels.
