The National Residential Landlords Association is a member-based organization that represents landlords across England and Wales and serves as their primary policy voice. Founded in 1998, with roots extending earlier, it is considered the UK’s first national landlord association and is based in Manchester, England. Its members number over 50,000 landlords who collectively own more than 340,000 rental properties. Through advocacy and member resources, the NRLA supports landlords in engaging with housing policy and industry issues. In May 2026 the NRLA announced a partnership with Bidwells LLP to launch NRLA Living, a platform designed to better support large portfolio landlords, Build to Rent operators, investors, funders and related professional services firms alongside its core membership. The organization operates within the real estate sector as a national advocacy and support body for private landlords and continues to develop services and partnerships to broaden its scope.
