The National Society of Professional Engineers is a national nonprofit organization that supports licensed professional engineers in service to society, guiding public confidence that engineering decisions impacting people's lives are made by qualified, ethically accountable professionals. Working with state societies, it is recognized as an authority on licensure, ethics, and professional practice, and it actively promotes licensure while helping individuals become licensed. Through education, licensure advocacy, leadership training, networking, and outreach, NSPE aims to strengthen the professional standing of engineers and their ability to practice with integrity. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, NSPE serves a broad network of engineers and licensure candidates across the United States. A February 2025 development saw the organization publicly express support for Qualifications-Based Selection. It operates as a nonprofit professional association focused on licensure, ethics, and professional practice within the engineering field.
