The National Tribal Emergency Management Council is a new national public-safety organization focused on emergency management and homeland security within Indian Country. It serves as a national umbrella to share information and promote best practices, created to oversee the Northwest Tribal Emergency Management Council, a regional collaboration of tribes across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Based in Everett, Washington, the NTEMC aims to extend the Northwest council's work nationwide. In January 2021, NTEMC announced a partnership with FirstNet Response Operations Group, part of AT&T, to address needs across its membership. The organization supports tribal governments seeking to improve emergency management and resilience through coordinated information sharing and collaboration.
