The National WIC Association (NWA) serves as the nonprofit education arm and advocacy voice for the WIC program. It supports more than 6 million mothers and young children and coordinates services through roughly 12,000 provider agencies delivering WIC’s public health nutrition services nationwide. Its mission is to inspire and empower the WIC community to advocate for and promote quality nutrition services for all eligible mothers and young children, while ensuring effective program management. Based in Washington, D.C., NWA operates within the nonprofit and public health landscape, focusing on nutrition policy and service delivery for nutritionally at-risk mothers and young children and the agencies that serve them. In 2024, the organization was recognized for engaging in EDIB work and announced a partnership with Third Settlements to advance EDIB.
