National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) is a non-profit trade certification organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, independent, ANSI-accredited assessments of knowledge and skills for individuals who work in the telecommunications industry. NWSA was created by the industry for the industry to address the high incidence of workplace death experienced in the industry prior to its inception. NWSA is a by-product of collaboration between the industry’s leading subject matter experts, companies and stakeholders representing the broadest collaboration ever formed of wireless carriers and broadcasters, tower owners, OEM’s, turnkey management firms, small/medium/large contractors, manufacturers and tower technicians. With the support of over 100 companies from every sector, NWSA has been able to develop and maintain the industry’s first accredited trade certification programs. Industry leaders have pledged continued collaboration in the establishment of the NWSA national assessment and trade certification organization. The mission of the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) is to provide thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills and provide a verifiable worker certification in order to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, improve quality, encourage training, and recognize the skilled professionals who work on towers and other non-standard structures.
