NCBAC confers two healthcare credentials: CAC and CAEd. These certifications are quality indicators that facility and agency managers/directors/owners can utilize to insure core competencies and knowledge in healthcare professionals. 

Mission: To offer a national certification program that promotes the public good by providing credentialing and registry services for those who care for people with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.

Goals: Those who provide dementia care training are Certified Alzheimer Educators (CAEd). There is at least one Certified Alzheimer Caregiver (CAC) per shift in facilities and agencies offering dementia care.

CAC - Certified Alzheimer Caregiver
CAEd - Certified Alzheimer Educator
