NeighborSpace is a small nonprofit organization in Chicago that acts as an urban land trust dedicated to preserving and sustaining gardens on behalf of community groups. It provides property ownership and a range of support services—insurance, water, stewardship, education, tool lending, project planning, fundraising assistance, and troubleshooting—so that resident groups can concentrate on gardening and community-building.

The organization serves community groups seeking to create and maintain gardens that contribute food, beauty, play, health, and safety in neighborhoods. As a unique player within the civic and social sector, NeighborSpace positions itself as the sole nonprofit urban land trust in Chicago. Recent partnerships and expansions include collaboration with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District to acquire and preserve property for community gardens, with more than 50 sites preserved to date.
