The Nepal Youth Foundation is a mid-sized nonprofit in the civic and social sector that supports children and youth in Nepal by providing education, housing, medical care, and ongoing support. Founded in 1990 by Olga Murray, the organization maintains an office in San Francisco and conducts programs across Nepal. Its work focuses on meeting fundamental needs and expanding opportunities for young people and their families. Recent program efforts include the Caste Equality Project, with Educating Dalit Lawyers launched in 2022 as its first phase and two additional phases announced in 2024. Other initiatives include developing Lito, a homemade flour, for nutrition programs under the Lito for Life initiative, and providing hot, nutritious meals through Community Nutrition Kitchens during COVID-related lockdowns. Although based in San Francisco, NYF operates throughout Nepal, adapting its services to communities in need.
