Nevadaworks is the Local Workforce Investment Board for Northern Nevada. Under the direction of the Nevadaworks Board and Council, staff coordinates and monitors workforce development activities in northern Nevada to help employees develop and hone new skillsets to assist them in future employment. The initiatives also increase the employment, retention and earnings of Nevada’s workers. Federal funding from the Department of Labor is distributed by Nevadaworks to fund training programs that prepare our region's workforce with the skills necessary to help local businesses succeed. Nevadaworks also provides funding to qualified service providers that work with individuals who have never been employed, as well as those who work with a diverse population of individuals seeking employment or skills upgrading.
