New America is a mid-sized think tank based in Washington, DC, focused on shaping public policy and civic life around core systems such as education and work, democracy, family well-being, security, and technology. With more than 25 years in operation, the organization seeks to turn bold ideas into practical initiatives that benefit people, families, and communities in the United States and worldwide. Its mission is to generate big ideas and bold solutions for a new America.

Its vision describes a society in which public institutions serve the public, workers and families can thrive, and people are safeguarded against existential threats. In April 2026, Anne-Marie Slaughter stepped down as CEO after more than a decade leading the organization.
