Each year, New Beginnings provides 700 children, youth, and families in Maine with opportunities for the safety, connection, and growth that all people need to thrive. WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE? New Beginnings’ mix of funding sources allows us to serve all youth in need. Unlike many other service providers, New Beginnings’ case managers, clinicians, and youth workers can meet clients’ needs without being “tied to the clock” or limiting engagement to Medicaid-eligible appointments. Our staff work in a casual and respectful environment where they do what it takes to creatively support each youth or family as they work toward their goals. We provide a unique spectrum of services for youth - including housing and the only 24-hour emergency shelter for youth in the state - that welcomes diverse young people and works to end the disproportionate impact of homelessness on youth who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
