NEBHE is a regional higher education organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for residents of New England. It operates across the six New England states, engaging higher education leaders to assess, develop, and implement education practices and policies of regional significance. The organization also promotes policies, programs, and best practices to help states implement important regional higher education initiatives. It aims to foster regional cooperation and programs that encourage efficient use and sharing of educational resources and to strengthen the relationship between higher education and the economic well-being of the region. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, NEBHE serves the New England higher education community and its residents. In August 2024, Luis G. Pedraja was appointed as NEBHE president.
