New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) is a higher education institution in the United States, known as 'The JC,' and was established in 1965 as the first junior college founded after New Mexico's 1963 Junior College Act, opening to students in 1966. The college sits on a 219-acre campus and has more than 637,000 gross square feet of building space, with an enrollment of about 3,000 students. NMJC offers associate degrees (AA, AS, AAS) and occupational certificate programs, and maintains dual credit opportunities for area high schools, alongside distance education that accounts for roughly one-third of student credit hours.
