New Neighborhoods, Inc. is a Stamford, Connecticut-based nonprofit housing organization serving Fairfield County. Founded in 1967 as a spin-off from the Stamford Council of Churches, it stands as the oldest actively operating nonprofit housing developer in Fairfield County. Its activities include developing, redeveloping, and preserving affordable housing, managing properties, and operating the Tenant Advocate Program to connect tenants with community resources, along with advocacy for sustainable and affordable housing policies. To date, NNI has developed, redeveloped, and preserved more than 600 affordable housing units in Stamford, Norwalk, and Danbury, and it manages nearly 450 units of low- and moderate-income housing in these communities. The organization serves low- and moderate-income families, seniors, and households transitioning from homelessness, with plans to expand by as many as 200 additional units in Fairfield County in the coming years. In May 2020, NNI partnered with the City of Stamford and Bethel AME Church to provide COVID-19 testing for residents and neighbors on Stamford's west side.
