New River Community Action is a non-profit organization working hand-in-hand with community groups to address local conditions of poverty in the New River Valley (Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Radford, and Pulaski), Virginia.  

We work with our community's most vulnerable residents including the homeless and ex-offenders.  We also offer programs to low-income families with young children.

We serve about 12,000 New River Valley residents each year.  We are part of a network of approximately 1,000 community action agencies nationwide and we recently celebrated our 50th anniversary!
