Serving a tight-knit student body, the school emphasizes 21st century learning alongside core academic subjects, organizing students into cohorts to pursue multidisciplinary projects and collaborative study. In addition to traditional courses in English, math, social sciences, science, and physical education, NT@ZB offers electives that broaden outside-the-classroom experiences, including Power Skills, Entrepreneurship, Career Skills, and an internship program, with qualified juniors and seniors able to take dual-credit courses through the College of Lake County. The institution positions itself as a distinct approach within the primary and secondary education landscape, aiming to equip students with practical skills and pathways for success while operating in Zion, within the regional education network. A recent development noted is its designation as a separate campus that reinforces its mission to provide a break with tradition in pursuing modern educational approaches.
