New York Bravest Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization dedicated to New York City Firefighters. Our mission is to support our Bravest in the event of injury. We also provide support to the surviving family members of those heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice.

When a Firefighter is injured, many lives are affected and the FDNY is there to help, but there is a stress on the system right now as more and more of our Bravest that responded on 9/11 are falling ill from their exposure to toxins while heroically working “The Pile” at Ground Zero.

We lost 343 of our Bravest that day, but what most people don’t know is that we have lost 171 more since then. These were Firefighters that literally put the entire nation on their back as they showed heroism never thought possible. Tragically those same heroes are now facing an even tougher challenge.

Our organization was founded before 9/11, as we recognized that there are many needs to be met in the face of injury or death, but we could have never imagined what’s happening today. The rest of the nation has moved on from our darkest day in history, but New York City Firefighters will never have that luxury.
