In 1991, Nichols Fleet Equipment got its start as a one-man sales operation for IMT cranes and tire-service equipment in Chattanooga, TN. After starting in the industry as a mechanic and later a salesman, President David Nichols went out on his own and began Nichols Fleet in 1991.  In its infancy, Nichols Fleet operated out of a trailer that served as the sales office, and a nearby factory handled the installations. Today, the company is in a state-of-the-art Chattanooga facility designed for truck equipment installations and service, parts and accessories sales, and in-house painting. 

The Nichols Fleet facility features 80-ft bays that capable of holding three trucks per bay instead of just two, and our overhead crane enables easy lifting, manipulation, and mounting of heavy truck bodies. Given the size of the trucks that typically enter our facility, these advancements utilize bay length more much more efficiently allowing us to do more done in less time.  
 
Today, you'll see Nichols Fleet mudflaps on all kinds of trucks and in all kinds of places, both in the US and abroad.  The major markets that we serve include mining, construction (primarily paving and excavating), municipalities, utilities, building supply companies, the tire service industry, contractors, and heavy equipment dealers.
