The Nicklas Insurance Agency was established in 1962 by Richard J. Nicklas. Dick founded the agency with a firm commitment to the growth and success of not only the business but also the surrounding areas.

In 1983, our agency joined forces with three other agencies to form The Keystone Insurers Group. Today, Keystone Insurers Group has over 100 locations across Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana providing: Insurance, Financial Services, Pensions and Employee Benefits, and Risk Management Consultation to over 250,000 individuals and businesses developing in excess of over $1.43 billion in premium.

In February of 1997, John Mulcahy and Frank Scutella purchased Nicklas Insurance. Locally, our agency has expanded rapidly in the last 10 years with locations in St. Marys, Ridgway, Coudersport, Knox and Erie, Pennsylvania. Recent acquisitions of Kronenwetter Insurance Agency (2004 – St. Marys), Coudersport Insuring Company (2007 – Coudersport) and Anderson & Kime Insurance Agency (Ridgway -2004), has enabled us to provide products and unparalleled service to customers in Western Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio.
