NIHT is partnering with the traditional landowners (clans) of Papua New Guinea. We have relationships with landowners in the provinces of New Ireland, East New Britain, and West New Britain. Together, in partnership, we will put an end to deforestation, preserve the rainforests, offset carbon pollution, and increase the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of Papua New Guinea. These projects evolved based on the precise direction from our clan partnerships moving the project from what was initially going to be a timber operation, to a carbon credit program.
