Nomiku, founded in 2012 and based in San Francisco, developed the connected home sous vide immersion circulator and redesigned it for at-home use. The product line is aimed at bringing precise, controlled cooking into everyday kitchens, making sous vide more practical for home preparation. In 2018, Nomiku launched Nomiku Meals, a frozen-prepared meals service that ships mains and sides to customers; these are cooked using sous vide and reheated in about 30 minutes after tapping the bags on the Nomiku Smart Cooker’s RFID reader and placing them in water. The Nomiku Smart Cooker also functions as a regular sous vide immersion circulator, enabling learning to cook with sous vide and flexible at-home use.
