The point of wearing anything is to feel a certain way. But instead of just feeling confident or pretty, we wanted people to feel good. To know that the pendant around their neck serves a bigger purpose than just being jewelry. With so many connections to our beautiful culture and language, my wife and I had a lot of trouble finding ways to outwardly express our inner values. We wanted people to dress not only to show off their sense of style, but their sense of identity. From the country that they have a connection to, to the beliefs that they hold close to their heart, we knew that peoples’ values needed an outlet. We set out to create more than just a brand, but a family that provided people with an avenue of expression, and a modern way to exhibit their passion through fashion. On January 22nd, 2018, Nominal was born.

Stemming from our best-selling Name Necklace, the brand grew into a sense of pride beyond just about your actual name, but also the person you are and hope to become. Not only meant for the celebratory highs of your life, Nominal jewelry is also designed with the intent to provide a sense of resilience in the trying lows, too. From patience to love to trust, many of our pieces are not just meant to display the virtues that you love, but to serve as a “note to self” of sorts, a reminder to always be the best version of yourself.

Inspired by the poetic and concise nature of the Arabic language, Nominal jewelry often showcases a lot of Arabic words and phrases that carry a lot of weight for people, whether they are familiar with the language or not. Since the conception of the company, we’ve grown constantly and have included more and more cultures and languages in our pieces, to bring together not only fans of fashion, but people of different cultures from all around the world.
