Nonviolent Peaceforce is a global civil society organization that protects civilians in violent conflicts through unarmed strategies. It partners with local communities to build peaceful outcomes and advocates for the broader adoption of nonviolent approaches, with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

It responds to invitations from credible local organizations committed to nonviolent solutions and engages with key stakeholders, including opposing faction leaders, local police, religious leaders, business figures, and civil society groups, while living and working in conflict-affected communities. Its presence is nonpartisan and unarmed, and it operates to support civilian protection, provide safe spaces for negotiation, and secure safe housing for those displaced and other violence-prevention measures during elections. In March 2026, Nonviolent Peaceforce released Community Preparedness and the Future of Communities in Ukraine, a localized assessment highlighting insecurity, rising tensions, and gaps in readiness for potential ceasefire scenarios across five frontline oblasts.
