Noosa Shire Council is a local government authority serving the Noosa region on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Based in Tewantin at 9 Pelican Street, it covers about 871 square kilometres and serves more than 54,000 residents; the shire is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere, with roughly 35% of its land protected as national parks, reserves, or conservation areas, and the Traditional Owners are the Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi people. The council was re-established as a local government on January 1, 2014 after amalgamations in 2008. It delivers planning, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship for the community, including upgrades to parks, community facilities, and trails, and work toward a long-term planning framework known as The New Noosa Plan 2020. In 2026 it announced a partnership with Grow It Local to provide free memberships to Noosa residents, reflecting continued collaboration with community and external partners.
