North Beach Citizens is a small nonprofit based in the San Francisco Bay Area, founded in 2001 to mobilize the North Beach community in addressing the needs of unhoused and extremely low-income residents. Francis Ford Coppola helped bring together residents and local merchants to create a resource center aimed at helping individuals rebuild their lives and reconnect with the community, operating in an atmosphere of trust, integrity, and respect. The organization opened in January 2001 with volunteer staff and began serving around 50 homeless individuals within its first month. 

Today, the group operates with a small staff and concentrates its efforts on residents of the North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco. In March 2020, it launched an online fundraising campaign to replace an in-person event.
