NHG is a third-generation, family-owned business that was founded by Ralph Pinkus in 1951. Over the years, our President, Jon Pinkus (Ralph’s son) founded our parent company, Nortex Wholesale Nursery, which includes our wholesale growing & Certified Organic Produce operation in Wylie, Texas. 
NHG is committed to sustainable gardening practices and features an array of organic gardening products in addition to traditional synthetics. We are a destination garden center for edible produce gardeners, and we also stock a seasonally available selection of both native and well-adapted plants that we select for success in the north Texas climate. We host a number of monthly meetings of our area’s plant and gardening clubs and organizations, and we program a full calendar of free and paid events throughout the year.
