Every student at Northern Lights Community School (NLCS) is treated as a unique individual with tremendous talent. Student voice and interest is at the center of all educational decisions. The goal of the school is to provide an opportunity for students working at all levels of academic achievement, who are looking for a smaller, more personalized environment. NLCS creates a passion for learning! NLCS emphasizes project-based learning and strong connections to the community, using community members and organizations as teaching resources for students. NLCS is a tuition-free public charter school for grades 6-12 that is open to any student in the state. NLCS is an independent public schools and is considered by the state of Minnesota to be independent school district.
