Northern Maine Community College is a public higher education institution based in Presque Isle, northern Maine. Established in 1961 and opening its doors to students in 1963, the college serves more than 2,000 students annually through a mix of certificate, degree, and extended education programs, and has produced more than 7,000 graduates employed across Maine, the nation, and internationally. Input from business and industry is sustained by over 250 advisory committee members, helping keep programs aligned with current technical needs, with several offerings recognized as national leaders in their fields. In recent years it has advanced collaborations to broaden access to training opportunities through partnerships with other institutions, and a leadership change occurred with the appointment of a new president in 2025.
