NorthShore Health Centers is a nonprofit network delivering affordable healthcare to uninsured and underinsured residents across Porter, Lake, and LaPorte counties in northwest Indiana. Based in Portage, Indiana, the organization operates nine clinics offering medical services with both scheduled appointments and walk-in visits, and provides extended hours including weekends at select locations. In addition to primary care, it runs four dental offices and includes on-site imaging, laboratory services, and a fully functional pharmacy at the Lake Station Center and Scottsdale Center. Behavioral health consultants work with primary care providers to address emotional and behavioral needs as part of a holistic approach to health. To improve access, NorthShore offers a sliding-scale payment structure for patients without insurance, with office visits priced from $25 to $65 based on household income. Labs and other external fees may be charged separately, and recent developments in 2024 include expansions to Crown Point and Gary as well as Michigan City and East Chicago.
