The Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter (NWACS) is a private, non-profit organization that provides 24-hour residential emergency care for children throughout Arkansas who are victims of abandonment, abuse, or neglect. Our mission is to provide these children in crisis with a safe haven, high-quality care, and hope for the future. 

Since opening our doors in 1993, the Children’s Shelter has cared for more than 13,000 children from throughout the state of Arkansas.
